In the Nude

Nude dressing is big news for Spring…not literally, but in terms of colour or the lack of as the case seems to be.  Celebrities have sported the non-colour on the red carpets already and yesterday the flagship Topshop had rails overflowing of neutral hues.  As seen on the catwalks of Donna Karan and Celine, and a crucial component to the current military vibe and naughty underwear look, nude can be so easily incorporated into your wardrobe.

However, as previously mentioned, I sadly do not yet have my golden glow and, with my dark tresses, fear all over nude will drain me to the point of looking like a swine flu victim.  But just as I was on the verge of quitting I found the actually quite simple answer – shoes!  Providing an easy and instant update (and widely believed to be the best retail therapy) nude footwear allows you to step into spring without baring all in the still frosty weather.  I have picked my faves below – combination of gladiator-esque platforms with woven detailing and the currently very popular chunky wedges.

Photographer Spencer Tunick Plans Sydney Opera House Nude Shoot | Art Knowledge News

SYDNEY (REUTERS).- American photographer Spencer Tunick is searching for thousands of Australians to strip off on the steps of the Sydney Opera House in the name of art. Tunick, famous for capturing hundreds and sometimes thousands of naked people against industrial or urban backdrops, wants to create a Sydney “installation,” involving up to 2,000 nude volunteers on March 1. The photo, to be called The Base, will coincide with the city’s annual gay and lesbian Mardi Gras, which attracts participants and audiences from around the world.

“In a way, I’m making a base for the structure, a base for the architecture, and by combining straight and gay and lesbian people I’m weaving the different sexes and society together to form this wonderful fabric that holds up this gorgeous building,” Tunick told Australian radio on Thursday.

Tunick has produced almost 100 installations around the world, including one in Melbourne in 2001, and says his work is not about exhibitionism or eroticism, but instead is about the vulnerability of life in a rough city landscape.

But that argument has not impressed authorities at home in the United States, where Tunick has been arrested seven times.

Tunick said he considered Sydney’s Bondi Beach as a location, but decided the city’s best-known stretch of sand was too big.

Artist Spencer Tunick has been documenting the live nude figure in public, with photography and video, since 1992. Since 1994 he has organized over 100 temporary site-specific installations in the United States and abroad. Tunick’s installations encompass dozens, hundreds or thousands of volunteers; and his photographs are records of these events. The individuals en masse, without their clothing, grouped together metamorphose into a new shape. The bodies extend into and upon the landscape like a substance. These grouped masses which do not underscore sexuality become abstractions that challenge or reconfigure one’s views of nudity and privacy. The work also refers to the complex issue of presenting art in permanent or temporary public spaces.

Not Because I'm Lazy

I’m not lazy.  Just because I’m  doing this post that doesn’t require me to do anything new doesn’t mean I’m lazy. Sure, I don’t have to work at creating this post, no collecting top notch photos for a new gallery or searching Flickr for good, hot sexy images. Nope. None of that! I just type a few lines, then provide some links to some stuff I did months ago. How cool. I believe this is called “recycling”. What a great racket! But I’m not lazy. Honest.

BLONDES. I introduced this gallery to the waiting world on November 13 of last year. With just under nine hundred hits it is the hands down winner of the popularity contest. I’ve been annoyed the gallery of redheads has lagged so far behind.

WET & SEXY. Originally post November 20, this is one of my favorite galleries. I was cooking when I picked these photos, that’s for damn certain! W&S has garnered 527 hits.

BIKER BABES. Just a hair behind Wet & Sexy with 504 hits, BB highlights the intimate connection between hot girls and hot bikes.

BRA & PANTIES. This is another of my favorites.  It was posted on December 9 of ‘09 and has racked up 349 hits. I’m really old fashioned, I still get a thrill just whispering, “bra & panties!”

Here’s what’s weird. The hit counts for these and all the other galleries have nothing to do with the content but only with the title and the first line of the Visions post they were in.

Kyon No Imouto Vector

Long story short, there’s this h-game, featuring flash animations of the girls of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu doing some explicit acts. One of them was posted on Youtube and shared on a certain imageboard I visit… It was of Kyon’s little sister, and I kinda got ahead of myself by >implying, in the company of some Anons, that I’d take some screenshots, stitch and vector a scene from it.

It was just a passing thought stemming from the quality of the art within the contraband Youtube video, but the people who saw that reply kinda took it to heart. So I felt the need to deliver. Speaking of ‘felt’… I also felt kinda dirty while doing it.

Working Show Trucks Magazine

We were pegged as soft porn some time back and after careful consideration we decided to take action. Our decision was to create a second publication to be our main stream magazine, Living After Midnight. Working Show Trucks Magazine will become more edgy with topless and possibly some “playboy” style nudes. All images are done in a tasteful manner. In the upcoming issues we will have an insert notifying you of this critical change in content. I realize I have to be careful in how I go about this. I’ve been to England twice and just adore the place. The beautiful, peaceful countryside, the inspiring cathedrals, Westminster Palace, the Thames, the Tower, the British Museum, English theater, Canterbury, and on and on… When I was there both times I had the strangest sensation I was home.

There are, however, at least three things about England that are depressingly bad: the weather, the food, and the royal family (oh, and they drive on the wrong side of the road).

While I loved sight seeing in London and the rest of the country, there was on major distraction: the beautiful, sexy women. They are everywhere. Just as you are about to gaze at the tomb of Shakespeare in Westminster Abbey your eye catches a comely, uniformed guide. You never get around to enjoying those big black crows at the Tower when a woman in a very short skirt strides by. Really, they should pass a law banning gorgeous women from appearing on the street between nine and five each day.

06th January 2010 OKAYAMA — A 49-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday under anti-child pornography laws after he allegedly took nude photos of a 15-year-old girl in a hotel in Kurashiki City last November.

Kenji Yamamoto, a teacher at a public junior high school in Tsuyama City, is accused of taking photos with his cell camera of the third-year junior high school girl he met through an Internet gaming site. Police said Yamamoto pretended to be a teenage boy by sending the girl a picture of a boy’s face he took from a high school graduation album. When they met, Yamamoto told the girl he was the boy’s father and that his son was at the hotel.

Yamamoto was initially charged with extortion in December, after he allegedly threatened a high school girl that he would upload her name and the name of her school along with nude pictures he had her send him previously.

He was re-arrested on Tuesday under anti-child pornography laws after police found pictures of about 30 girls in his cell phone. Yamamoto told police that he started using the Internet gaming site in 2008, and had about 100 girls send nude pictures of themselves via their cell phones.

Madeleine Photography

One of the few female photographers out there, but one who definately flies the flag for the female of the species.

Madeleine’s web site hosts ove 120 images of male, female, colour and black and white images taken both in the studio and on location.  It doesn’t seem to matter whether she is shooting a moodily lit, sensual shot or a totally funky pop-art style – all of her imagery is inspiring, innovative and very beautiful. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Madeleine has been a successful, professional photographer in Santa Barbara, California, for twenty years where she operates a full service studio. Her background is in fashion, commercial and fine art photography.

Madeleine’s work has been featured in the New York Center of Fine Arts, and the Chelsea Art Museum, New York and her photographs have been published internationally in numerous magazines and books, postcards, and posters.

Recently a collection of her black and white photographs were featured in Asahi a fine art photographic magazine published in Tokyo.

My work attends acutely to the subject, whether it is carefully evoking someone’s personality or capturing that element in everything we see.

Day 65 (1/9/10): One For The Road

After passing out on the couch, I came to at 1:23 when I heard the phone ring. I didn’t even look at the caller idea, because I was a little groggy. And that’s when Taylor returned my phone call. She told me to come down to this bar, because they were having nickel beers from 2-4. Now, I had already passed out with a belly full of scotch by 11:30, and I looked down at the dog weighing the option. It wasn’t the smartest idea, but I decided to at least go out and enjoy my Friday night/Saturday morning.

I put on my jacket, walked down my steps and hailed a cab. Fifteen minutes later I grab three beers. I then walked around looking for either a place to sit or the reason I was at this bar in the first place. I found both in the back corner. She got up to hug me and almost fell. She had four beers on the table, saying I could have one…or two. I promptly pointed to the three I just put down and slid one her way.

I sat and we didn’t talk for a few moments, both working away on a beer. She broke the silence with, “I didn’t think you’d actually show.” I said the word “yeah” into my cup as I finished the Bud Light.  She immediately brought up Nicole, and I instinctively hemmed and hawed around the topic with lots of filler words. There was a small group of people there that seemed to thin within minutes of me arriving, and then dwindle down to Taylor and I within an hour.  Somewhere between rounds 2 and 3 I went from the chair across her to right next to her. I think it had to do with wanting to be in a booth. But, honestly, it probably had more to do with the fact that we both wanted me to be next to her.

That’s when the moment happened. I’d played this moment out in my head in every single situation imaginable, but I never actually thought it would happen.  I don’t even know who started it. I don’t even have more than a hazy recollection of it at all. We started kissing. It wasn’t vile, it wasn’t fireworks, it just was. Two lips grazing and meeting in the middle and getting acquainted for the first time after years of frustration.  And then I backed away for a moment to dive in again. And then she broke it, and came right back in. The next thing I know I’m outside the bar trying to get a cab.

The cab ride home was sullen. I was tempted to start a dialogue with the cab driver, about all the stupid ways kissing Taylor could go.  But I decided against it and just had the dialogue with my head. I’d wanted this moment for so long, and throughout many different relationships. The bitch of it is that I couldn’t enjoy this because of how it happened, why it happened, and I just felt so goddamn guilty. I suppose that’s what makes me a good Catholic.

Miley Finally talks about the Nude photo's.

Tween Queen Miley Cyrus has finally commented on controversial photos taken of her when she was 15 years old.

Posed naked and wrapped in a sheet for photographer Annie Leibovitz, the shots caused a stir two years ago when they were published in Vanity Fair, with many wondering how Miley’s parents could have allowed such a shoot and some even labelling it child pornography.

But Miley, now 17, says her family still doesn’t understand what all the fuss was about.

“Here, my parents are thinking they’re seeing a beautiful picture by a major photographer, and the people of America want to see something dirty in that?” she told Harper’s Bazaar.

“It doesn’t make sense to us because [my family] doesn’t look for negativity. But people don’t want to say, ‘What a great performance’ or, ‘What a great shot’. No-one wants to look at something like that and see the positive because it doesn’t sell a magazine.”

As for coming under fire for posting her own raunchy pics on myspace, making a ‘racist’ slant-eyed face in a happy snap with friends, or pole dancing on an icecream cart at the Teen Choice Awards, Miley argues that she’s still a kid and she’s allowed to make mistakes.

“My job isn’t to be a parent. My job isn’t to tell your kids how to act or how not to act, because I’m still figuring that out for myself.”

“So to take that away from me is a bit selfish. Your kids are going to make mistakes whether I do or not. That’s just life.”

#47. Eat naked.

No, not in a restaurant silly.

While the title of this post works as a witty title for a kitsch social commentary book, it is meant to be taken literally.  Weight is a concern for even the fittest of us.  Whether it be bulking up or slimming down, as humans, we are cognizant of our mass x gravity.  Routine inspections of our various handles and flaps leave us with certain desires.

A healthy and fun way (especially if you have a partner) to keep tabs on our bodies is by eating naked.  For the Quakers among us, feel free to slap on some underwear.  Seeing our bodies as we consume food is a great way to tell what areas we may need to concentrate on, as well as what areas we are pointlessly obsessing over.  Everyone has stomach rolls!  Aint nothing you can do about it!  Eating naked helps us realize the natural contours of our bodies and how they relate to food.  It is meant to bring not only a deeper understanding of our bodies, but a deeper love for their “flaws” as well.

For those of us that have no qualms with our bodies, eat naked anyway.  As I always say, it is the best days that have the most nudity.
